Service Coordinator

Part-Time (22.5 Hours)

Location: Knoxville/Lenoir City

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with seniors and residents in apartment complex to locate and refer to supportive services and other resources.

  • Assists residents to determine need for supportive services. Services could include transportation, meals, homemaker services, etc.

  • Educates residents on services available in the community.

  • Works with local service providers to determine available services in community to make referrals.

  • Prepares and maintains confidential and secure client files which include intake form, information on referrals, case management plan, notes and other items.

  • Participates in area aging network and local community groups related to aging.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field with at least 2 years’ experience in social service delivery with senior citizens and/or people with disabilities. Associates degree with significant experience may qualify.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Must have valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of insurance on automobile.

  • Computer literacy, including strong word processing, spreadsheet and internet skills.

  • Able to deal tactfully with the public, tenants and co-workers, and to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
