Position Summary: Makes repairs and maintains properties for the Affordable Housing program.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs light maintenance duties such as minor plumbing, painting, or carpentry repairs.

Schedules and completes preventive maintenance program.

Responds to after-hours/weekend/holiday emergency calls as needed.

Change return air filters on a regular basis and light bulbs as needed.

Completes grounds work such as ground pick-up, sweeping and light landscaping.

Maintains sidewalks as needed in all seasons.
-
May clean gutters.
-
Cleans, sweeps, mops and empties trash in office building areas.

Prepares apartment for new tenant after previous tenant moves out. May involve painting, cleaning, and minor repairs.

Accompandy pest control or other contracted service workers as needed.
-
Assists with property inspections, unit inspections, REAC inspections, and/or management reviews.

Purchase maintenance supplies as needed.

May travel within servcie area to meetings as required.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Must have valid driver's license and proof of insurance on vehicle.

Maintains confidentiatlity of client and agency information.

Complies with all rules, policies,and procedures of the Agency.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Minimum of High School diploma or GED preferred.

Previous experience in light maintenance work such as plumbing, painting and carpentry repairs.

Possess good general mechanical aptitude and prior experience in apartment maintenance.

Basic use of computer preferred

Ability to deal tactfully with the public, tenants and co-workers, and to exercise good judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
